Ridderkerk is a city and municipality in the western Netherlands, in the province of South Holland.It is located near a major city, Rotterdam. The municipality includes the following towns and villages : Bolnes, Oostendam, Rijsoord and Slikkerveer. . The center of Ridderkerk has a central place for events and there is a theater. The Ridderkerk Museum (Oudheidkamer) is located in the historic center of the village. The local museum is housed in the former village school dating from 1840.
