Meknes is a city in northern Morocco. It is located in the Meknes-Tafilalet region, on the foothills of the Middle Atlas mountains. Meknes was the capital of Morocco under the reign of Moulay Ismaรฏl (1672โ1727), before it was relocated to Marrakesh.
