Learn More about Comino

Discover Comino, the 3rd largest island in the Maltese archipelago. Located in the north of the country, Comino is bordered by two straits: the Strait of Malta and the Strait of Gozo.
The name Comino comes from the name of the cumin plant, as it is one of the few plants that can grow on Comino, a particularly arid island.
Today, Comino is mainly considered as a nature and wildlife reserve.
The island is full of magnificent beaches with turquoise waters that are not to be envied by the Seychelles or the Maldives. Its wild landscapes enchant divers, hikers and photographers.

Start your stay with a walk on the Blue Lagoon, one of Comino's magnificent beaches. Turquoise waters, white sand and bright sunshine make for a wonderful stroll or simply a moment of relaxation.
Nevertheless, this is the most popular beach and therefore it is often full to bursting during the peak tourist periods.
But don't worry, there are plenty of other islands on the island.

So you can also go to Santa Marija Bay. Not far from the Blue Lagoon, it is a less crowded but equally charming beach. Here you can enjoy boat trips and even scuba diving.

On your way to Comino, you will also have the opportunity to visit the St. Mary's Tower. Erected in the 17th century by the Knights of Malta to keep an eye out for enemies, the Tower offers a panoramic view from its top.
Not far from the St. Mary's Tower, you can also find the St. Mary's Battery. Built in the early 18th century, it is a semi-circular structure of cannons designed to protect the channel between Malta and Gozo.

During your walks on the island, you will have the opportunity to discover a variety of flowers and trees, from olive trees to fig trees and pine trees, as well as animals such as wild rabbits and lizards. The island's cliffs and turquoise waters add to its charm.

If you are looking for a destination where you can do a variety of activities in a natural setting but also relax, Comino is the ideal destination.
