Cameron Highlands is the largest mountain resort in Peninsular Malaysia. The Cameron Highlands is almost 5000 feet (1,500 meters) above sea level. This is why the region enjoys a mild climate.
In addition to the plantations, one can participate in excursions to the Mossy forest, where you will admire the largest flower in the world that is the Rafflesia. Close to the village, this jungle walk leads 1.2 miles (2 km) further to the second-largest mountain of the country, Gunung Brinchang. You can also try to climb the highest mountain in Malaysia, Gunung Irau. A little more than 6.2 miles (10 km) south of the village, you can bathe in a series of waterfalls in the wild, the Lata Iskandar waterfall. You can also find organized tours to visit a traditional village of Orang Asli, the indigenous people of Malaysia. As you can see, there is a lot to see and do in Cameron Highlands. You can easily spend several days there without getting bored!
On the way, you will see the first agricultural farms, specialized in the culture of strawberries. You can then stop for a strawberry milkshake!
