Learn More about Amboseli

Amboseli is the most famous national park in Kenya, where visitors can observe the best wildlife, see Mount Kilimanjaro, visit the Maasai village. Located in the remote south of Kenya, along the border with Tanzania, Amboseli is not only famous for its stunning wilderness landscape with its most iconic peak - Mount Kilimanjaro. It is also one of the best places on the continent to observe the African animal world, especially the African elephant.

Amboseli is considered the quintessence of Kenya's national parks, and if you ever get the chance to set foot here, you'll know why. Amboseli's signature attraction is the sight of hundreds of huge elephants appearing in the most scenic spot of Mount Kilimanjaro (5895m). The park is also home to more than 370 species of birds. The climate here is a bit dry, but overall still pleasant. In 1991, Amboseli was designated a World Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO and has since become the second most popular wildlife viewing destination in Kenya, after the Masai Mara National Reserve. Amboseli's landscapes include marshlands with more than 300 species of birds, including pelicans and kingfishers, and grasslands inhabited by lions, leopards, zebras, spotted hyenas, and giraffes. , etc…

The average temperature in the park throughout the year is moderate, but it's still a good idea to bring a light jacket, warm fleece, or sweater to wear early in the morning and at night when you're out to watch the stars, as at night. At this point the temperature will drop slightly. It rarely rains during the dry season period from July to October and this is the best time of year to visit Amboseli Park. Note that late June is when the last showers of the long rainy season occur, and late October welcomes the onset of brief rains.

Due to the presence of predators in the park, there are only a few designated places where you can get out and walk around. Some of them have stunning views, among the best in this national park.
