Situated at an altitude of 1,534 m, this small alpine lake lives according to the seasons.
It is particularly famous for its striking colours, which have earned it the most beautiful of nicknames: the Rainbow Lake. Surrounded by a thick forest of spruce and other species, the crystal-clear waters reflect like a mirror the brilliant blue of the sky, the clouds that swarm it, the emerald of the trees, but also the impressive mountain massifs that watch over the lake.
The Lake Carezza area has no shortage of wonderful places to discover and activities to enjoy.
You will have the opportunity to visit the Archaeological Museum of Alto Adige in Bolzano, as well as Castel Roncolo, nestled on a hilltop a few kilometres from the city.
A little further on, you can take the Bolzano cable car to discover Collalbo Klobenstein and the Earth Pyramids.
If you like walking, you can also go on spectacular hikes in the Parco Naturale Sciliar-Catinaccio, not far from Carezza, or in Val Fiscalina and Strudelkopf, in the neighbouring massifs.
Finally, don't forget to admire the 3 peaks of the Alps from Monte Paterno.

To get to Lake of Carezza, in South Tyrol, you will have to go via an airport in a neighbouring province. You can easily find a flight to Venice, Milan or Innsbruck (in Austria), which are not far from the region.
From there you can take the train to Bolzano, the large city near Lake Carezza.
