Lough Easkey is a place located in Donegal county, Ireland. It is a popular place for cyclists and walkers in the area. You can walk around the lake on a loop of about 6 kilometres. Beware, bring a jacket and good shoes because if the western part of the lake is on a small road, the other side is on a track and passes through marshy areas. A little anecdote, the name "Easkey" means "abundant in fish" because it is said that the lake is abundantly populated with salmon and trout! Easkey! In addition to its beautiful waves and its large beach, Easkey offers very beautiful points of interest: a castle at the water's edge and a small charming village full of good addresses. Located between Sligo and Enniscrone along the Wild Atlantic Way, Easkey is a great stopover not far from Sligo to tackle some great waves! Beware, it is however reserved for experienced surfers. The view is quite spectacular. Easkey beach is legendary for its views and offers excellent waves. You can visit and see from the beach the Rosslee Castle of the O'Dowd clan. The castle-wave combo is here!
