Yazd is a city of Iran, capital of the Province of Yazd. Located on the central Iranian plateau, between the Dasht-e Kavir desert in the north and the Dasht-e Lut desert in the south, the city is surrounded by salt lakes and dominated by the Shir Kuh in the southwest, 13303 feet (4055 m).
