The region is full of waterfalls in the middle of the forest like the Madakaripura Waterfall, as well as typical Indonesian temples. In front of the Malang train station, a long alley shelters about twenty small restaurants where you can eat good Indonesian food for a few dozen rupiahs only. The night market of Malang - Pasar Besar - is a happy mix of fair and street-food stands. You can eat well while watching the children duck fishing and their parents trying to shoot with rifles, all this with music and a festive atmosphere.
