Prior permission is required to visit. Nainital is home to the Pt. GB Pant High Altitude Zoo, which opened in 1994 and is one of the two high altitude zoos in India. It has some endangered mammal species such as the Siberian Tiger. Other attractions include Snow View, which sits at an altitude of 2,270m and can be reached by cable car; Naini Peak, the highest peak at 2,615m overlooking the city; and Gurney House, the former residence of Jim Corbett.
