Overview Paravur Backwaters is one of the lesser known, tightly kept secret locations in southern Kerala. The Paravur Backwaters is safe and a sheltered waterbody, without much influence of the tidal effects. You can be assured of the safety as the depth of the lake in general is not more than 10 feet and not wider than 1 km. This ensures you don't paddle out and lose orientation in unknown waters. There are no motorboats in the waterbody to cause wake or noise pollution. Paravur Backwaters is part of the West Coast Canal System and connects it to the NW3 National Waterway between Kollam and Thiruvananthapuram. You will find it truly unique place to paddle as it is also the meeting point of sea water from Arabian Sea and freshwater from Ithikkara River. The paddling center is located on a tiny sandbar that sits between Arabian Sea and Paravur Backwaters with direct access to both waterbodies.

🏖️ Shore 🗼 Landmark 🏖️ Beach 🚢 Lighthouse 🏖️ OceanA trip to Kovalam could be summed up as beach, mountains, coconut trees, paradise... This former fishing village is now a popular destination in India, and you'll soon see why. The warm golden sand and clear ocean waters provide an idyllic setting for a relaxing and unforgettable vacation. Kovalam is a seaside resort in the south of India, about twenty kilometers south of Trivandrum. Bathed by the Arabian Sea, three beautiful beaches punctuated by rocky outcrops follow one another, sinking into the gently sloping water (ideal for children's swimming). Close your eyes, imagine the sound of the waves licking your toes, feel the sand tingling your calves, the sea wind caressing you, the sun warming your skin... The best time to come is in winter, and especially not between May, June and September. At this period, you might fall during the monsoons, and the heat and humidity can be very unpleasant. Since the 1930s, the resort is very popular with holidaymakers. Locals also like to come here in the evening with their families, and photographers come to practice their skills to capture the emotion of the magnificent sunsets, during which it seems that the precious star also goes for a swim... Farniente, nature and culture will be at the appointment. In and around Kovalam, you will find witnesses of a rich history that is waiting to be told. Be prepared to listen to it and fall under its spell... In Kovalam, the lighthouse, 35 meters high and striped with red and white, overlooking coconut palms and the sea, is worth a photo. The most beautiful and popular beach is Lighthouse beach, and you will not escape it. Within a radius of a dozen kilometers, you can admire the temple of Thiruvallam Parashurama or the unusual Vizhinjam Rock Cutter Cave Temple.
