Learn More about Kasol

Kasol is a small hill station located about 500km from Delhi but only 70km from Manali in Himachal Pradesh. This small town is very touristy as it is full of hotels and guesthouses and is often the starting point of many trekking trails, but it is also a perfect destination for a cool getaway during the hot weather in Delhi and the rest of the country. Although Kasol is not 'pretty' in itself, the villages and views in the surrounding area are breathtaking. And above all, the atmosphere is very friendly. During the day, the many cafés and hotels are very imaginative in offering yoga, music, games and meditation workshops.... and in the evening there is a real music scene ranging from simple acoustic concerts to psytrance festivals in the surrounding forests. It should also be noted that cannabis cultivation is very present in the region. The plant grows everywhere like a weed. This of course attracts many visitors. If you came to Kasol to find peace and quiet, you'll have to come back again, because here it's all about sitting in cafés, meeting people and partying. It is still possible to find some peace and quiet after crossing the flexible bridge (very flexible) on the other side of the river. After a half hour walk, you will arrive at the small hamlet of challal, where only a few houses are located. Here there is no noise except that of the river flowing and the birds singing. What to do in the area? Tosh Tosh is located about fifteen kilometres from Kasol, but it takes a good hour to reach it. This charming little village is isolated in the heart of the mountains. There is little to see there, except the impressive view of the Himalayan mountains. Walking through the village, past the 200 year old wooden houses and apple fields, is a real pleasure. There are even a few guesthouses that welcome you and serve you a delicious Masala Chai. If you are motivated, you can continue your journey to the village of Barchaini, about 90 minutes walk away.
