Made up of chalk and marl cliffs that rise up to 440 feet (134 meters) high, it is home to an impressive and rich flora and fauna. At the top, bunkers recall the presence of the Germans at this place during the Second World War. The Cap-Gris-Nez is also a geological formation not to be missed in Escalles. Both capes are ideal places to walk and hike, while being surrounded by beautiful landscapes, and also you will have a view of the English coast. The beach of Escalles, made of pebbles and fine sand, is the other natural interest of the village. It can be reached by the village or by a small road directly from Cap Blanc-Nez.
