Split, the second most populated city in Croatia is a historical, southern, and gentle seaside city. The city is ideal for the summer holidays. Its particularity: the city was founded in the 4th century inside the palace of the Roman emperor Diocletian. It then spread to the surrounding region. The richness and preservation of its architecture have earned the city's historic heart a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Its narrow streets are a labyrinth and its houses are nestled in every corner! The cathedral's bell tower, installed in the Roman mausoleum, offers a superb view of the rooftops and the islands. 
You can also enjoy its beautiful waterfront as you stroll along the Riva and its vibrant atmosphere. If you are staying for a few days, the city is also well situated for exploring Dalmatia.

A visit to the charming Veli Varos district, which used to be home to the city's fishermen.
