With a surface area of some 300 square kilometres, the park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most beautiful natural parks in Europe.
It is composed of 16 lakes. These lakes are connected by waterfalls which were created by the limestone of the water that was deposited between the lakes, forming a barrier of limestone rock called travertine.
Coloured by its blue lakes and green forests, the park has a very varied fauna and flora. Indeed, the park's flora includes almost 1300 plant species, 22 of which are endangered and protected in Croatia.
The park's fauna is made up of 157 species of birds, 50 species of mammals including the wolf, the lynx, the deer and the brown bear, which is the symbol of Plitvice Park.
During your visit, you will have the opportunity to go on beautiful walks in the park.
You can also visit many limestone caves dug by the water near the lakes, in particular the Supljara cave, with a height of about twenty meters, or the Golubnjaca cave, with two entrances, located at the base of the canyon.
You can also take a boat trip on the various lakes in the park, such as Lake Prošćansko and Lake Kozjak, and enjoy the beauty of nature.
During your boat trips, you will have the opportunity to reach the large 40m waterfall.
