Tobermory is a small community located at the northern tip of the Bruce Peninsula in the municipality of Northern Bruce Peninsula. It is 300 kilometres northwest of Toronto. The closest city to Tobermory is Owen Sound, 100 kilometres south of Tobermory and connected by Highway 6.

Tobermory has two harbours from which you can take scenic cruises around the channel, rent sea kayaks or take ferries to the islands. Two parks in the area are perfect for exploring: Fathom Five National Marine Park of Canada and Bruce Peninsula National Park of Canada. You'll find plenty of trails, scenic vistas and beaches to enjoy. Favorite stops include the Grotto Water Cave and shipwreck sites. Learn about the history of the area by visiting the St. Edmunds and Peninsula Museum, or walk to the Big Tub Lighthouse and enjoy the view of the harbor. The Bruce Trail is one of the most popular trails in the area. It runs north-south from Tobermory to Niagara for almost 900 km. It is the oldest and longest hiking trail in Canada, stopping near Nottawasaga Bay and Owen Sound before entering the Bruce Peninsula. Here it winds along the rocky coastline. Many visitors to Tobermory choose to hike part of the trail and stay overnight at a campsite. After a day of enjoying Tobermory's beautiful natural scenery, take a stroll through the streets that border the small Tub Harbour. Head to Bay Street for cafes, restaurants, boutiques and gift stores. You'll also find grocery stores, laundromats and public restrooms. If you're looking for something to eat, indulge in the region's famous whitefish.
