Percé Rock is mentioned and plays an important role in a Quebec legend involving the character of Blanche de Beaumont. The legend tells the story of a knight's fiancée who went to fight the Indians. Wishing to join him, Blanche de Beaumont was captured by the pirates. Not wishing to marry the pirate captain, Blanche de Beaumont decided to throw herself into the water. A thick fog ensued which led to the pirates' downfall. Indeed, their ship hit the rock of Percé. According to the legend, in times of fog, it is possible to see Blanche de Beaumont on the rock.
