Mont-Tremblant is a town in the Canadian province of Quebec, located in the Laurentians, a mountain range northwest of Montreal. The year-round ski resort of Mont-Tremblant is located on the shores of Lake Tremblant. It offers winter sports, a golf course and a pedestrian shopping village. To the north of the town, the vast Parc national de Mont-Tremblant has forest hiking trails and canoeing lakes. Winter activities are available.
Mont-Tremblant is now a tourist town with several major ski centres, including the Tremblant resort, and numerous golf courses. Several projects are underway on the mountain, including the construction of a new tourist village on the Sun Side. The majority of tourists come from Ontario and New England, but the city is attracting more and more Europeans and Asians.
Despite the rapid economic growth, the citizens and the city administration want to live in harmony with nature and keep the area in its wild state.
Since last January and after a major reorganisation of the two groups' properties, which now include 12 resorts in the United States and Canada, the company that owns Mont-Tremblant has a new name: Alterra Mountain Company.
