Travel Tips for visiting Gold Coast QLD

The Gold Coast is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Australia.

The region is not only known for its climate and its beautiful beaches.

Located south of Brisbane and extending over an area of more than 400 km. Whether you're a nature or a city dweller, a nature park or an amusement park, a sportsman or a chill-out person, the Gold Coast offers an incredible choice of activities.

Going to the beach

The Gold Coast is known for its unique and beautiful beaches, famous for their natural beauty and easy access from the city. They stretch for nearly 70 km, from the southern tip of Rainbow Bay to South Stradbroke Island in the north. Most of them are supervised. You will be able to swim there but also practice a lot of water activities such as surfing, windsurfing or kite surfing. Do not miss Surfers Paradise Main Beach, Tallebudgera Creek, or Mermaid Beach.

A paradise for Surfers

There's no denying that the city was built around its residents' passion for surfing. Wherever you are on the Gold Coast, you'll find surfers of all ages, at any time of the day, as long as the wave weather is favorable. If you want to start or improve your surfing skills, there are about 20 surf schools along the coast.
The most popular spots are The Spit and Narrowneck at Main Beach, but also Mermaid Beach and Palm Beach, Burleigh Heads, and finally Kirra and Snapper Rock at Coolangatta. In short, you will have a king's choice to test the waves of the region

Hiking in the national parks

If you're tired of the hustle and bustle of the city, or if you simply want to be in the green instead of the sea, there's nothing like a little trip to the Gold Coast.
Less than an hour's drive west of the coast, dive into the rainforest of Mount Tambourine, Lamington Park, or Springbrook National Park.
Hike the many hiking trails in these national parks, discovering beautiful waterfalls and viewpoints.
