Learn More about Fingal Head

Idyllic surf and fishing town south of the mouth of the Tweed River. Fingal Head, also known as Fingal, is a narrow spit of land located between the Tweed River estuary and the ocean., Fingal Head has become a relatively quiet resort south of the bustle of the Gold Coast.

๏ปฟIt is renowned for its vacation activities - boating, rock and surf fishing, golf, swimming, tennis and surfing. It has even escaped the development that has occurred to the south in Kingscliff and Salt. The Cape of Fingal is definitely something to see. From the Fingal Headland lighthouse, it is possible to see the "Giant's Causeway," at the water's edge.

Cook sland is a must-see if you are in this area. Situated near off Fingal Head (visible from the headland) , Cook Island is a breeding habitat for shearwaters and crested terns. The island is also famous for its "tropical species of fish, crustaceans, and mollusks that abound in the rocky reefs of the Cook Island Aquatic Reserve. Several endangered or protected species are also found in the reserve, including the Queensland Giant Grouper, Black Rock Cod, Golden Spotted Rock Cod, and Grey Nurse Shark." Nevertheless, fishing is prohibited but you can enjoy the fish by scuba diving and snorkeling.
